MISSION
Maintain advanced Deaf Accessibility by promoting the integration of Filipino Sign Language (FSL) in all possible FSL Technology and Media, while networking with FSL organizations and the Filipino Deaf community.
VALUES
By utilizing technology, we aim to strengthen Deaf accessibility and integrate the Deaf way into the daily lives of all Filipinos Deaf, in order to achieve the five Deaf values:
Deaf Community Development (DCD): Deaf community-based education, skills development, and pathways to learning opportunities.
Deaf Education Share (DES): Empowered deaf educators share their knowledge and skills with the community within Deaf education.
Deaf Professional Resources (DPR): Resources on Deaf knowledge and culture are readily available to all Filipinos.
Media Resources (MR): Develop resources on social media and the website so that Deaf people can access information.
Access Technology (AT): Advising and guiding the technology information on social media and internet systems.
Deaf Filipino Immigrants shall sponsor our DANP’s Project FSL Technology and Media, which provides activities related to our five values and offers opportunities to the Deaf community.
BACKGROUND
The Deaf People Accessibility in the Philippines was established via Facebook on May 15, 2017, and was renamed the Deaf Accessibility Network of the Philippines (DANP). We are volunteers with a mission to promote and maintain Filipino Sign Language (FSL) through media and technology. Given that we do our initiatives through social media and online networking, we expand the range of deaf promotion and engagement through our five Values: Deaf Community Development, Deaf Education Share, Deaf Professional Resources, Media Resources, and Access Technology.
